Wild Swan's productions are perfect for schools, libraries, museums and civic groups and are best performed among or near the audience. Seated close to the action, children will delight in the intimacy and audience involvement of this experience. Although most shows do not require a stage, Wild Swan's technical scope, vibrant use of imagination and energy will fill even the larger houses.

Tales of Tricks and Trouble

Tales of Tricks and Trouble
For ages K-5
Travel around the world in an hour. This lively rendition of four folktales: "The Stonecutter" (Japan), "It Could Always be Worse" (Poland), "In the Land of Four Suns" (China), and "Anansi and the Skygod" (Africa), casts two actors in 30 roles. Just try catching your breath with our rapid and colorful costume changes, many masks, and plentiful puppets. Be prepared to globetrot!

Drum Me a Story

Drum Me a Story
For grades K-5
A delightful, humorous collection of well-known African tales including "Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock" and "How the Turtle Got its Shell," performed through storytelling, acting, and drumming. Outstanding drummer Ryan Edwards, trained in Africa, demonstrates an exciting array of drums and leads audience participation.

American Short and Tall Tales

American Short & Tall Tales
For grades K-5
Celebrate our country's rich folklore through humor, stories, and music. We'll criss cross the nation, bringing to life the tall tales that helped create our unique "melting pot" heritage: life along the Mississippi with Mike Fink and Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind Crocket, a Louisiana bayou with Compere Lapin and a southwestern village where old Tia Miseria has a trick or two.

Coming to America

Coming to America
For grades 2-8
Back by popular demand, we will present this stirring musical production about immigration, following the journeys of 4 children from different parts of the world who make their way to a new life in America. With a beautiful set of songs by Laz Slomovitz of Gemini, the production weaves together the separate stories of children from Russia, Viet Nam, the Dominican Republic, and Lebanon as they overcome enormous obstacles in their quest for a better life.

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time
For ages 3-8

An engaging collection of favorite children's classics including "Three Billy Goats Gruff," "Reynard the Fox," and "The Three Little Pigs" as well as classic folk songs are sure to delight the very young. In true Wild Swan style, three performers and a musician create all the magic inherent in these timeless stories making this first time theater experience unforgettable.

Strega Nona

Strega Nona and the Magic Pasta Pot
For ages 3-8
Strega Nona is a story that will satisfy your appetite for laughter and fun. Strega Nona has a magical pasta pot which only she can control. Come see what silliness ensues when Big Anthony does not listen to her, causing the streets of their small village to fill with pasta. Nationally renowned artist Chris Roberts-Antieau is designing the sets, costumes and props for this not to be missed production.

Owls Winter

Owl's Winter
For ages 3-8
Owl's Winter is a delightful collection of stories foryoung children based on Arnold Lobel's "Owl at Home." Audience members join Owl for a series of fun adventures as he encounters strange bumps atthe end of his bed when he is lying down, and the moon seems to follow him home when he is out for an evening stroll. This charming production features two actors and a musician. Audience participation!

Jack & the Beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk
For ages 3-8
Our humorous production of this well-known, beloved tale is sure to please even the youngest theater goer. In Wild Swan's version, Jack's journey up the beanstalk not only leads to his well-known encounters with a very silly giant but to the rescue of his long-lost father as well.

Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit
For ages 3-8
When Peter Rabbit ventures into Farmer McGregor's garden, despite his mother's warning, his adventures begin. From the moment Peter loses his little blue coat to Farmer McGregor's scarecrow until he arrives safe and sound at home, this classic tale is brought charmingly to life by Wild Swan's actors and designers.

Pooh Stories

A Honey Pot of Pooh Stories
For ages 3-8
Dip into our honey pot of stories featuring children's all time favorite bear, Winnie the Pooh. Little theater goers will love joining Pooh as he hums his way through the Hundred Aker Woods. Whether he's pretending to be a cloud to trick bees out of their honey, hunting heffalumps with Piglet, or stuck in the doorway at Rabbit's house, Winnie the Pooh is just about the best friend a child could have. This story is theater at its most charming!

Please Note: Due to rising gas prices, a travel fee may be added to the performance fee for cities 30 miles or more outside Ann Arbor. This fee is $1.00 per mile. For cities 1 hour or more outside of Ann Arbor, we request that 2 or more performances are scheduled.

*The fee for performances after 5pm Monday - Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday is as follows: $750 or $1400/2 in one day.

Comprehensive study guides including story outlines, classroom activities, and bibliography are sent to presenting schools upon request.

Complete press packets are available to presenters booking public performances.

We can arrange to have American Sign Language Interpreters perform with any of the productions, for an additional fee.
